Postpartum Support

“At no time in history have new mothers been expected to do so much for so many with so little help. In many places a mother is presented with a doula, someone who specializes in ‘mothering the mother’, relieving her of household chores and interferences that drain her energy away from her baby. These gems are well worth the price!”

Sears, W. & Sears, M. (2003). The Baby Book. New York: Little Brown and Company

Krista Maltais and Darcy Sauers are DONA Certified Postpartum Doulas who support parents through the first weeks/months of a newborn’s life. They are able to assist parents with newborn care, mother care, partner and sibling adjustment, postpartum mood disorders, breast and bottle feeding, as well as education about parenting options. As Postpartum Doulas, Krista and Darcy also provide assistance with daily tasks such as laundry, dishes, meal preparation, and nursery organization.

Darcy and Krista never enforce their own style or philosophy of parenting. They trust you, as parents, to make decisions for your family and will help you get the evidence-based information you need to make informed choices. Their goal is to educate and support the mother and family so they may gain the skills and confidence needed for a lifetime of parenting.
